Usually, when we mentioned Sichuan, the feature of spicy bumped into our mind. However,These days, as we turned on the TV, skimmed through the news papers, turned on the video, or clicked the home page of Website, all we could see were all about Sichuan earthquake.
China has begun three days of national mourning for the tens of thousands of people killed in a massive earthquake one week ago. The horns of cars, trains and ships sounded with air raid sirens to mark the moment. The national flag in Tiananmen Square, which is raised in a solemn ceremony every morning at dawn, fluttered at half-mast. The Olympic torch relay was also suspended for the mourning period.
Did you notice that when you enter the home page of Yahoo, you could see several words "send your love to Sichuan " which has hyperlink? Have you ever try to click it? When you clicked it, what would happen? It would link to pages which reported the latest news about Sichuan earthquake. Besides, there were hyperlinks linked to charity organizations such as the Red Cross, Tzuchi, just to name a few.
Maybe most of us just sit in the sofa, watching the news, or reading the newspapers, when we see the news like that, some people think nothing , because they think what happened is none of their business.Or we may murmured "Oh~how pity they are.'' And then? We do nothing.
The situation reveals that we only live in our world, and we did not concern things happened outside of the world. College students shouldn't just pay a glimpse to news even if it was such a big news that caused a great influence. We should learn how to show concern and empathy to our world.
